OMEN draws inspiration from the ancient understanding of interpreting specific sounds and gestures as warnings to foretell the future. In ancient Greece, an omen could be observed in a bird's cry or in a thunder or lightning, which was perceived as a message sent from Zeus. Omen explores a specific choreographic space, where the resonating qualities of different cymbals are used to creates a row of sonic warning signs.
Sistro duo is a contemporary percussion duo formed by Katerina Anagnostidou and Marta Soggetti based in Copenhagen. Sistro duo premiered the piece in Dansekapellet, Copenhagen on June 24, 2025.
