ATEM
Pipe organ (35' )
Performed at Archipel Festival, Geneva
2025
ATEM is a piece for pipe organ composed and performed by Sandra Boss. The work departs from on an open approach and creates a sonic landscape far from the standard repertoire. Her resolutely minimal, contemplative technique allow for an immersive sonic experience – sometimes meditative, sometimes more rhythmic, as it searches for the beats and pulsations intrinsic to the sound itself. ATEM is played on "l'orgue du voyage" a special constructed organ build by Jean-Baptiste Monnot which has been transported to the Archipel Festival in Geneva. The organ is portable and made out of modules. It is complete with its intricate mechanisms, keyboards, and countless pipes.
